Niklaus Rüegg



Short Bio

Niklaus Rüegg (b. 1977) is a visual artist living and working in Brussels and Zurich. He is a graduate student at the Kunsthchschule Zurich – ZHdK ( 2013) and a laureate from the Higher Institute for Fine Arts – HISK in Ghent (2009). His solo exhibitions have been organized by Entrance Gallery (Prague, 2010), The White Rabbit (Berlin 200)), Les compile (Zurich, 2005, 2008), Galerie Bob Gysin (Zurich, 2008, 2006, 2003, 2001), Duplex /Geneve, 2007), K3 (Zurich, 2005), Cabaret Voltaire (Zurich, 2004), Kunsthof Zurich, (2004, 2006), Galerie Sima (Nürenberg, 2002), and Galerie Martin Krebs (Bern, 2002). He has also participated in group exhibitions: Het Domein Museum (Sittard, 2010), Botkyrka Konsthall (Stockholm, 2009), VVB82 Gallery (Antwerp, 2010), Elaine Lèvy Projects (Brussels, 2009), La Conquete de l’Espace, HISK (Ghent, 2009), Polyfonie (Watou, 2009), Croxaphox (Ghent, 2009), Helmhaus (Zurich, 2007), (Prague, 2006), Centre pasquàrt (Bienne, 2004), and M54 (Basel, 2004), Swiss Art Awards (Basel, 2000, 2001 and in 2003 he won the Kiefer-HablitzelStipendieum at the Swiss Art Awards. In 2007 he won the grant from the Kanton Zurich. He is part of the swiss collection, at Zurich city’s art foundation, Collection Peter Bosshard, Schweizer Post.
